CHAIRS CHAT

Firstly, thank you for doing me the honour of electing me as your Chair for a third term of office. I will work hard for you in the year ahead and know you will continue to make me proud. In addition, I take this opportunity to congratulate all our worthy award winners again, wow you all so deserved your awards, very well done. I was delighted to announce at our AGM that our much-missed Ray Bartlett, who died last year, had named CUDOS as a beneficiary in his will. Thank you Ray, your generous bequest means the world to us and we will take our time to ensure we make very wise use of this significant sum of money, along with the great memorabilia and costumes that are already in our costume store. Rehearsals are underway for our play, Lend Me a Tenor, very ably directed by Helen Wickens. Make sure you get your tickets in plenty of time as this very funny play is sure to sell out quickly. You are guaranteed a great night out. Well done to all those who were successful at auditions and commiserations with those who lost out. You gave those of us on the audition panel some very tough choices. Your new committee is meeting very soon and will be planning our social get togethers, alongside our future productions calendar. Further news of all these in our next newsletter. I hope you all enjoyed a happy and peaceful Easter break, wherever you were and whatever the weather was like, as we’ve certainly had more than our fair share of rain over these last months! Take care everyone. Dendyxx

CHAIRS CHAT

I'm writing this as a very proud Chair of CUDOS, following our fantastic success at the David Beach Awards. Sending huge congratulations to all our many nominees & to our award winners, the full cast & backstage crew, alongside the team who brought us all together & turned Made in Dagenham into the amazing show it was. Also thank you to all of you who were in our audience, what a difference you made to us at each performance. As a group we are so lucky with the great mix of members we have, you are all a key part of everything we do, shows we put on & can all enjoy as we move forward. I'm looking forward to auditions for our next show, Lend Me A Tenor, a very funny play which I'm sure you'll enjoy. I know we have exciting times & opportunities ahead of us & am looking forward to another exciting year as we hold our AGM at the end of this month. This will give us the chance to review the past year, to celebrate all our productions & to reflect on all we've been able to do together.

I will be announcing some very special news at our AGM which I know you'll be delighted to hear. Thank you for all your support & hard work over the last year. Look forward to catching up with lots of you at our AGM. Dendy xx
