Devising, Stagecraft, and Confidence 9.30am - 5.00pm

22nd of September

2019 Whether or not you are devising to create a production, or simply experimenting with some ideas, the process of devising is invaluable in helping individuals and groups to understand and explore deeper levels of their own skills and abilities. To create stories and characters and understand the interactions that make them both come alive allows the performer to connect with the true essence of theatre. In this workshop, we look beyond the notion of performing in a play and examine the creative process and how we can engage with it on a deeper level. The workshop includes uses of stagecraft in order to bring possible ideas to life and how these techniques can help with personal confidence. __________________________________________________________________ About Your Facilitator David Richey is an actor, director and writer, and currently Artistic Director of The House of Fun Theatre. He sets up and runs many creative and theatrical workshops, and conducts a great deal of on-going professional training through Equity. He is an experienced improviser and has worked with several comedy-impro teams - many of whose essential skills are brought into the workshop environment. As well as the huge benefits for performance development, his workshops are well known for their sense of fun!
