News Letter May 24
CHAIRS CHAT
Hi everyone,Hope this finds you all keeping well & looking forward to a sunny summer? Let's be optimistic as it is only May. I was so proud of Cudos with our success at the Cinderella awards, very many congratulations to Ann & all involved in our production of The Three Musketeers for a great panto that was recognised officially by Somerset Fellowship of Drama. More details later in this newsletter. Now we are looking forward to our next production in June 'Lend Me a Tenor', ably directed by Helen Wickens, it will have you laughing from beginning to end. I've watched rehearsals & I can assure you, you're in for a treat. At our AGM I was delighted to announce that we had received a very generous bequest from one of our long time & much missed member, Ray Bartlett. We're overwhelmed with his generosity & it secures our future as we move forward. We've invested in two 'proper' spotlights that are amazing pieces of kit. If you look up to the gallery next time you're in the Victoria Hall, you'll see said items standing tall up there, thank you Ray for enabling us to buy them. Your committee will be continuing to investigate how we can make best use of his bequest. Look forward to catching up with plenty of you over the coming months, at our play, our quiz at the end of June or other social events. Take care everyone & enjoy whatever the summer brings. Dendyx

CUDOS QUIZ SATURDAY 29TH JUNE
From the quizzical (if slightly deranged) mind of CUDOS Quizmaster Will Scott-Robinson comes the always fun yearly CUDOS quiz (and I bet you thought we’d forgotten)! Time to give those little grey cells an airing and see just how clever you think you are. To be held on Saturday the 29 th of June at 7.30pm in the Victoria Hall, Crewkerne, it promises to be an evening of fun, frolics, and furrowed brows. Entrance fee is only £3 per person (maximum 6 people per team), places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment (telephone Wendy on 01460 74380 with your team’s. name to book your place). Please feel free to bring your own food but, unlike previous years, no need to bring your own drinks as the bar will be open in between rounds for you to slake your thirst. The quiz is open to one and all (members and non-members alike) so grab your friends and neighbours and come on down to the hall on the 29 th to see what it’s all about. And remember, Rule One, the quizmasters’ decision is always final and, Rule Two, in the case of any disagreements please refer back to Rule One!
Be there or be a nonanonacontanonactanonaliagon*.
